One of the Top 10 IPR Cases in Jiangsu 2011: Counterfeit Luxury Brands Seized

Jiangsu was China’s province with the highest GNP per capita in 2011:  61,649 Yuan. On the evening of January 28, 2011, officers of the Nanjing Customs seized parcels which included lipstick, face cream, eyebrow pencil, eyelash curler, eyeliner gel, blush, powder, eye shadow, eyeliner, mascara, eye shadow sets, makeup kits, brushes, bracelets, necklaces, pendants and other kinds of cosmetics, makeup tools and jewelry totaling more than 60 brands, valued more than 130 million yuan. In view of the large value of the case, the Jiangsu Provincial Public Security Bureau has decided to prosecute the case (criminal case).

Brands included: MAC Cosmetics; Louis Vuitton; Tiffany & Co.; Swarovski; Chanel; Estée Lauder; Christian Dior; Giorgio Armani; Bobbi Brown; Lancôme; Guerlain; Helena Rubinstein and; Shiseido.
